Huber lifts Wingham over Kincardine, 8-3

The Wingham Ironmen relied on the scoring touch of Jamie Huber, who netted five goals, to beat the Kincardine Bulldogs, 8-3.

Huber's first goal came 41 seconds into the first period. He then added goals at 4:14 into the first, at 17:35 into the second, at 3:39 into the third, and at 8:37 into the third.

Wingham made Bulldogs' netminders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, totaling 44 shots and forcing 36 saves. Mitch Campbell made 36 stops and Tyler MacGregor made zero. The Ironmen outdid their season average for goals scored. Wingham has scored at the pace of 4.5 goals per game during the current campaign.

Blake Pickering also scored for Wingham. In addition, Wingham received assists from Ryan McNeil, who had four, Aaron Armstrong, who had seven, and Brett Brophy, Brody Tenpas, and Ryan Stulp, who each chipped in one.

Kincardine was helped by Tanner Simpson, who grabbed one goal. Simpson scored on the power play 12:48 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Wingham. The Bulldogs earned a power play opportunity when Tenpas was put in the box for slashing. Kincardine also got a goal from Brett Catto as well. More assists for Kincardine came via Brock Pinnell, Matt Baker, and Cody Britton, who contributed one a piece.

Jaden Shrier made 19 saves for the Ironmen on 22 shots. Wingham incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Kincardine incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
