The Alliston Hornets tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Fergus Devils would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 5-3.

A goal by Mackenzie Cleveland put Fergus up 5-2 in the third period, but Alliston pulled to within two on Jamie Bennett's tally 17:53 into the third period.

The Devils got the win behind a great game by Cleveland, who had two goals and two assists. Cleveland scored the first of his two goals at 2:36 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Fergus. Cody Gresswell picked up the assist. Cleveland's next tally made the score Fergus with 10:48 left in the third period. Mike Traves provided the assist.

Fergus forced the Hornets' netminders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, launching 31 shots and forcing 26 saves. Tyler Brindle made 22 stops and Connor Ryckman made four. The Devils' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in three goals.

Fergus additionally got points from Matt Clarke, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Traves, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Fergus also got a goal from Robert Ebach as well. Other players who recorded assists for Fergus were Griffin Heitshu, who had two and Ben Roelofson and Mikael Ruffini, who each chipped in one.

Alliston's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Fergus power plays. The Hornets kept Fergus' goalie busy throughout the game, and Alex Elliott made 41 saves on 44 shots. Alliston's defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. The Hornets are averaging 2.3 goals against for the season.

Alliston was helped by Ben Skuce, who registered one goal. Skuce scored 18:26 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Fergus. Tanner Dockerty also scored for Alliston. In addition, Alliston received assists from Jacob Tuck, Mark ODonnell, and Bobby Sloan, who contributed one a piece.
