Caledon falls to Schomberg in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Christian Muenz gave the Schomberg Cougars a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Caledon Golden Hawks when he scored 1:01 into the extra period.

Schomberg came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Cougars trailed 3-1 after a power play goal by Caledon's Adam Breen at 7:13 in the second period. Schomberg knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by Kiefer McIntosh at 12:11 in the third period.

The Cougars pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 22 penalty minutes.

The Golden Hawks were unable to stop Schomberg from sending pucks towards the net, and the Cougars eventually piled up 38 shots on goal.

Schomberg also had goals scored by JP Crescenzi and Ryley Egerton, who each put in one. In addition, Schomberg received assists from Colton Wood, Blake Culley, Brandon Yorke, and Justin Formenton, who each chipped in one.

Caledon was ineffective while on the power play, as it was held to one goal off of nine man advantages.

The Golden Hawks were led by Daniel Cafagna, who tallied one goal and one assist. Cafagna scored 9:55 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Caledon. Kyle Lee provided the assist. Steven Klomp also scored for Caledon. Other players who recorded assists for Caledon were Jake Mottashom, Christian Bonaldi, and Zack Worth, who contributed one a piece.

Garett Taylor rejected 27 shots on goal for Schomberg. The Cougars registered two goals on six power play opportunities. Eric Pitcher recorded 34 saves for Caledon. The Golden Hawks incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
