Huntsville falls to Orillia in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

Zac Hele gave the Orillia Terriers a 5-4 (OT) victory over the Huntsville Otters when he scored 1:55 into the extra period.

Orillia got the win on the strength of a great game by Daniel Lee, who had one goal and two assists. Lee scored 3:57 into the third period to make the score 3-3. Marty Lawlor provided the assist.

The Terriers' penalty kill excelled, as Orillia gave up one goal despite allowing eight power plays.

Huntsville was unable to stop the Terriers from sending pucks towards the net, and Orillia eventually piled up 46 shots on goal. The Terriers' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Orillia finished with 28 penalty minutes.

Orillia also got points from Lawlor, who also registered one goal and one assist. Orillia also had goals scored by Ryan Tucci and Jason Binnie, who each put in one. More assists for Orillia came via Wyatt Young, Nathan Beers, Jason Stone, Jake Shaw, and Josh Allan, who contributed one a piece.

The Otters' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Orillia power plays. Huntsville's offense rang up 48 shots on the Terriers' net.

The Otters were led by Jay Dix, who racked up two goals. Dix scored the first of his two goals short handed at 6:17 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Huntsville. Huntsville found itself down a man on Shawn Antonidis's tripping. Evan Wilding assisted on the tally. Dix's next tally short handed made the score 4-4 with 3:00 left in the third period. Antonidis provided the assist. Others who scored for Huntsville included Trayvon Henry and Jason Morissette, who scored one goal each. In addition, Huntsville received assists from Brock Heshka, Jake McIntyre, and Matt Janke, who each chipped in one.

Gordie Weiss rejected 44 shots on goal for Orillia. Connor Christianson recorded 41 saves for the Otters. Huntsville incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
