Watson's hat trick boosts Stayner over Huntsville, 12-0

Brandon Watson lifted the Stayner Siskins to a 12-0 victory with a hat trick against the Huntsville Otters.

Watson got on the scoresheet 9:04 into the first period. He then added goals at 2:03 into the third and at 17:23 into the third.

Stayner made Huntsville's goalies to work all game long, ripping 47 shots and forcing 35 saves. TJ Sherwood made 29 stops and Ben Belfry (APM) made six. The Siskins surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Stayner averages 4.3 goals per game.

Stayner additionally got points from Steve Griggs, who also registered one goal and one assist, Jackson Clarke, who also finished with one goal and three assists, and Ricky Darrell, who also grabbed three goals and one assist. Cooper Martin also scored for Stayner. In addition, Stayner received assists from Trevor Franklin, Kyle Lafreniere, and Dakota Hynes, who contributed one a piece, Brett Gauthier and Corey DeRose, who each chipped in two, and Quinton Bruce and Jason Seeley, who contributed three a piece.

Jay Payton recorded 17 saves for the Siskins. Stayner avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored three goals off of seven power plays. The Otters incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors and had no power play opportunities.
