Alliston squeaks by Erin, 4-2

The Alliston Hornets and the Erin Shamrocks were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Alliston made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-2.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Tanner Dockerty's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

The Hornets were led by Dockerty, who racked up one goal. Dockerty scored 5:32 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Alliston. Joe Cochrane assisted on the tally.

Others who scored for Alliston included William Bradon, David Leblanc, and Dalton Payne, who each put in one. In addition, Alliston received assists from Zack Byblow, Bobby Sloan, and Matt Hamilton, who each chipped in one and Dakota Brooks and Brendan Spencer, who contributed two a piece.

Erin put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Alliston to score on any of its four power plays.

The Shamrocks were led by Tyler Topham, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Topham scored 15:44 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Erin. David Neil provided the assist. Mike Niccolucci also scored for Erin. More assists for Erin came via Liam Adamson, who had one.

Tyler Brindle made 28 saves for the Hornets on 30 shots. Alliston incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Erin's Tom Denstedt stopped 23 shots out of the 27 that he faced. The Shamrocks incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
