Penetang blows out Huntsville, 8-1

The Penetang Kings were firing on all cylinders against the Huntsville Otters, and when the final buzzer sounded Kings emerged with an 8-1 win.

Huntsville's power play was ineffective against Penetang's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

The Kings were led by Ryan Young, who tallied one goal and one assist. Young scored on the power play 5:39 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Penetang. Penetang had gained a power play chance when Shawn Fraser was whistled for hooking. Matt Meher picked up the assist.

The Kings surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Penetang has scored at the pace of 5.5 goals per game during the current campaign.

Penetang additionally got points from Hayden Cole, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Craig Robinson, who also registered one goal and one assist. Matt Fischer also scored for Penetang. More assists for Penetang came via Dan Hogan, Jack Scanlan, Graham Haley APM, Nate Archer, Kyle Burns, Jordan Schwartz, Jesse Moreau, and Eric Randell AP, who each chipped in one.

Martin Lauzon made 15 saves for the Kings on 16 shots. Penetang incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Otters' TJ Sherwood stopped 22 shots out of the 30 that he faced. Huntsville incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. For the Otters, Corey Secord APM was ejected from the game.
