The Erin Shamrocks and the Fergus Devils were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Erin made the most of its opportunities and won, 5-3. The Shamrocks gained the winning advantage on a goal by Adam Gibson 18:46 into the second period and hung on until final buzzer. Gibson was all over the ice for Erin, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Gibson scored the first of his two goals at 3:26 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Erin. Josh Sguigna picked up the assist. Gibson's next tally made the score 4-3 Erin with 1:14 left in the second period. Sguigna provided the assist. Erin additionally got points from Sguigna, who also registered one goal and three assists to lead the team in points and Chris Grenier, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Tyler Topham also scored for Erin. More assists for Erin came via Tyler Nieuwendyk, who had two. Fergus put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Shamrocks to score on any of their three power plays. The Devils were helped by James Murray, who registered one goal and one assist. Murray scored 13:34 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Fergus. Cody Gresswell picked up the assist. Fergus also got points from Griffin Heitshu, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Gresswell, who also had one goal and one assist. In addition, Fergus received assists from Mike Traves and Steven Domenichini, who each chipped in one. Erin's Mark Terry stopped 24 shots out of the 27 that he faced. The Shamrocks incurred 42 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Alex Elliott made 16 saves for Fergus on 21 shots. The Devils incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
