Alliston outlasts Huntsville, 1-0

The Alliston Hornets beat the Huntsville Otters 1-0 in a game that featured tenacious defense, solid goalkeeping and a winning score from Bobby Sloan.

Dakota Brooks provided the assist on the the contest's only goal.

Alliston was sparked by Sloan, who racked up one goal. Sloan scored on the power play 18:54 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Alliston. The Hornets had gained a power play chance when Marco Luciani was whistled for checking from behind. Brooks provided the assist.

Alliston excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The Hornets could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Alliston puts an average of 5.0 pucks into the net per game.

Other players who recorded assists for Alliston were Mark ODonnell, who had one.

Huntsville found itself stymied offensively, and got off a mere 13 shots against the Hornets' defense.

Alliston's Connor Ryckman stopped 13 shots out of the 13 that he faced. The Hornets incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Connor Christianson made 20 saves for the Otters on 21 shots. Huntsville incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Team's Brock Heshka and Luciani were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
