The Dunnville Jr. Mudcats relied on the sparkling performance of Josh Rosettani in net to grab an 8-1 win against the Hagersville Hawks. Alexander Carlson was all over the ice for Dunnville, as he racked up two goals in the win. Carlson scored on the power play at 13:13 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Dunnville and again while 7:43 into the third to make the score 6-1 Dunnville. Hagersville was doomed by its poor performance on special teams, as the Jr. Mudcats were able to score five times while on the power play. Dunnville forced the Hawks' goaltenders to work in net, taking 41 shots and forcing 33 saves. Ian Sylves made 29 stops and Matt Murphy made four. The Jr. Mudcats excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Dunnville bested its season scoring average. This season, the Jr. Mudcats average 4.2 goals per contest. Dunnville's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in three goals. Dunnville additionally got points from Evan Huckalo, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Mack Steele, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Luke Stevens, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Dan Arrowsmith, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Jeff May also scored for Dunnville. In addition, Dunnville received assists from Landon Minor, who had three, Steven Czepek and Chad Springer, who each chipped in one, and Ryan Hannigan and Trevor Smith, who contributed two a piece. Hagersville could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Hawks put an average of 4.9 pucks into the net per game. Hagersville forced the Jr. Mudcats goalie Rosettani to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots. The Hawks struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as they finished the game with 42 penalty minutes for 11 opposing power plays. Hagersville was led by Hayden Baird, who scored the team's only goal. Baird scored 11:31 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Zach Maciel assisted on the tally. Rosettani rejected 40 shots on goal for Dunnville. The Jr. Mudcats incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. For the Hawks, Mitch Green was ejected from the game.
