Dundas beats Port Dover 4-3 after comeback scare

The Port Dover Sailors tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the Dundas Blues held on for a 4-3 victory.

Dundas made the score 4-1 on a goal by Elijah Williams at 9:00 in the second period, and Port Dover got as close as 4-3 when Reilly Wilson scored 1:57 into the third period.

The Blues' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Port Dover power plays. Dundas kept the Sailors' goalie busy throughout the game, and Nathan McKinnon made 32 saves on 36 shots.

The Blues were helped by Tyler Jones, who grabbed one goal. Jones scored 5:50 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Dundas. Matt Johnson provided the assist. Dundas additionally got points from Alex Panov, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Dundas also got a goal from Dan Pelosini as well. In addition, Dundas received assists from Kevin Jaczenko and Alex Aquin, who contributed one a piece.

Dundas was unable to stop Port Dover from sending pucks towards the net, and the Sailors eventually piled up 44 shots on goal.

Port Dover was helped by Steve Parker, who tallied one goal. Parker scored 3:25 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Dundas. Camden Freeman picked up the assist. Colin Streutker also scored for Port Dover. More assists for Port Dover came via Josh Herter, who had one.

Brock Novak made 41 saves for the Blues on 44 shots. Dundas incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Sailors incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
