Dundas squeaks by Dunnville, 3-2Niagara Jr. C Head Office Thu, Jan 09, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Dundas Blues gutted out a close 3-2 win against the Dunnville Jr. Mudcats. No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Braxton Andrews at 14:07 of the third period. Dundas pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 18 penalty minutes. The Blues were led by Andrews, who tallied one goal. Dundas also had goals scored by Cody Carey and Dan Pelosini, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Dundas were Cosimo Amore and Branden Graffi, who each chipped in one and Nick McMullen and Matt Johnson, who contributed two a piece. Dunnville stifled Dundas' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Jr. Mudcats found themselves short handed often, totaling 34 penalty minutes and allowing seven power plays. Dunnville was helped by Tyler Springer, who finished with one goal. Springer scored 10:42 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Landon Minor picked up the assist. Davis Hart also scored for Dunnville. In addition, Dunnville received assists from Mack Steele, who had one. Dan Davies made 27 saves for the Blues on 29 shots. For Dundas, Jason Campbell was ejected from the game. Jesse Schoeman recorded 22 saves for the Jr. Mudcats. Dunnville registered one goal on seven power play opportunities.
