Dunnville outlasts Simcoe, 4-2

The Dunnville Jr. Mudcats gutted out a close 4-2 win against the Simcoe Storm.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Luke Rowe secured the win for Dunnville with a goal in the third period.

Hayden Molen had a great game for the Jr. Mudcats, netting two goals. Molen scored on the power play at 11:39 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Dunnville and again while on the power play 15:46 into the third to make the score 4-2 Dunnville.

Dunnville stifled Simcoe's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Jr. Mudcats' offense rang up 54 shots on the Storm's net.

Dunnville also got a goal from Mack Steele as well. In addition, Dunnville received assists from Alexander Carlson, Davis Hart, Jordan Bolibrook, Landon Minor, and Dan Arrowsmith, who contributed one a piece.

Simcoe was helped by Conner Robinson, who registered one goal. Robinson scored 14:37 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Dan Stewart also scored for Simcoe. Other players who recorded assists for Simcoe were Brad Vervacke, who had one.

Jesse Schoeman recorded 18 saves for Dunnville. The Jr. Mudcats incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Tim Porter rejected 50 shots on goal for the Storm. Simcoe incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
