Dundas rides Davies to victory over Simcoe, 4-1

Dan Davies had a standout game with 26 saves, and the Dundas Blues beat the Simcoe Storm 4-1.

Dundas pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 38 penalty minutes.

The Blues were led by Garret Incze, who had one goal. Incze scored 13:40 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Dundas. Matt Johnson assisted on the tally.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 7:34 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with three game misconducts.

Dundas stifled Simcoe's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Blues kept the Storm's goalie busy throughout the game, and Avery Allen made 33 saves on 37 shots.

Dundas also got points from Kevin Jaczenko, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Cam McConnell, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Cody Carey also scored for Dundas. More assists for Dundas came via Brayden Knott, who had one and Braxton Andrews, who had two.

Simcoe racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with six minors and one major for 27 minutes in penalty time. The Storm surpassed its season average of 24.0 penalty minutes per game. Simcoe's offense operated below it season average. The Storm put an average of 3.5 pucks into the net per game.

Simcoe was led by Justin Tatrie, who scored the team's only goal. Tatrie scored 38 seconds into the third period to make the score 3-1 Dundas. Brad Vervacke provided the assist.

Dundas registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. Team's Alex Aquin and McConnell were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. The Storm registered zero goals on six power play opportunities. For Simcoe, Jamie Kelly was ejected from the game.
