Wade Kenny tallied one point to lead the Chippawa Riverhawks to a 2-1 victory over the Port Dover Sailors. Chippawa excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Riverhawks forced Port Dover goalie Bob Wilson to work between the pipes, taking 52 shots. Chippawa also got a goal from Dawson Ethier as well. In addition, Chippawa received assists from Kyle Robertson, Curtis Sauve, and Dylan Lazarus, who contributed one a piece. The Sailors did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 14 shots on net to force 13 saves. Port Dover was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 28 penalty minutes. The Sailors were led by Ryan Oatway, who scored the team's only goal. Oatway scored 7:34 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Port Dover. Wilson picked up the assist. Colin Dunne rejected 13 shots on goal for Chippawa. The Riverhawks incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Bob Wilson made 50 saves for Port Dover on 52 shots. The Sailors ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Oatway was ejected from the game. |
