Glanbrook wins tough contest against Chippawa, 3-2Gale Centre Thu, Nov 28, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Glanbrook Rangers gutted out a close 3-2 win against the Chippawa Riverhawks. Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Brad Parish secured the win for Glanbrook with a goal in the third period. The Rangers were paced by Parish, who had one goal. Parish scored on the power play 17:18 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Glanbrook. A head contact penalty on Adam Quait had put Glanbrook on the power play. Nicolas Kuiper provided the assist. The Rangers' offense rang up 41 shots on Chippawa's net. Glanbrook was ineffective while on the power play, as it was held to one goal off of 11 man advantages. Glanbrook also had goals scored by Kyle Dumais and Drew Jedrzejewicz, who scored one goal each. In addition, Glanbrook received assists from Ryan Kapuscinski, Chris Haigh, Curtis Edwards, and Keifer MacInness, who contributed one a piece. The Riverhawks kept the Rangers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Matthew Venturelli made 29 saves on 31 shots. Chippawa could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 34 minutes in penalties during the game. The Riverhawks were helped by Wade Kenny, who finished with one goal. Kenny scored on the power play 19:02 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Chippawa had gotten the advantage when Glanbrook's Colin Elder was sent off for checking from behind. Jake Reeves picked up the assist. Chippawa also got a goal from Dawson Ethier as well. Other players who recorded assists for Chippawa were Cory Vaillancourt, Curtis Sauve, and Drew trendle, who each chipped in one. The Rangers incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. For Glanbrook, Elder and Chadd Edwards were ejected from the contest. Colin Dunne made 38 saves for the Riverhawks on 41 shots. Chippawa registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
