Dunnville holds on for 4-3 win against Hagersville

The Hagersville Hawks tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Dunnville Jr. Mudcats would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-3.

A goal by Landon Minor put Dunnville up 4-2 in the third period, but Hagersville pulled to within one on Derek Medeiros's tally 19:43 into the third period.

The Jr. Mudcats were paced by Minor, who tallied one goal. Minor scored 19:01 into the third period to make the score Dunnville. Jeff May picked up the assist.

Dunnville stifled the Hawks' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Jr. Mudcats forced Hagersville goalie Matt Murphy to work between the pipes, taking 43 shots.

Dunnville also got points from Mack Steele, who also had one goal and one assist. Dunnville also had goals scored by Austin Golding and Andrew McMurtrie, who scored one goal each. In addition, Dunnville received assists from Jordan Bolibrook, who had two and Evan Huckalo and Tyler Springer, who contributed one a piece.

The Hawks' offense rang up 39 shots on Dunnville's net. Hagersville could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 38 minutes in penalties during the game.

Others who scored for Hagersville included Jake Reichheld and Cole Martin, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Hagersville were Jacob Brown, who had two and Brad Hornby, Derek Friesen, Daniel Medeiros, and Aleck Boyd, who each chipped in one.

Josh Rosettani recorded 36 saves for the Jr. Mudcats. Dunnville incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Hawks' Murphy stopped 39 shots out of the 42 that he faced. Hagersville registered zero goals on three power play opportunities.
