Dundas downs Port Dover, 7-3

Braxton Andrews racked up two points to lead the Dundas Blues to a 7-3 victory over the Port Dover Sailors.

Dundas forced Port Dover goalie Nathan McKinnon to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots. The Blues outdid their season average for goals scored. This season, Dundas averages 4.3 goals per contest.

Dundas also got points from Cody Carey, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Matt Johnson, who also finished with one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Dundas also had goals scored by Garret Incze, who had two and Kevin Jaczenko and Cam McConnell, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Dundas were Branden Graffi and Tyler Jones, who each chipped in one and Nick McMullen, Dan Pelosini, and Brayden Knott, who contributed two a piece.

The Sailors forced Blues' goalies to work between the pipes, firing 32 shots and forcing 29 saves. Brock Novak made 18 stops and Dan Davies made 11.

Port Dover was helped by Steve Parker, who had one goal and one assist. Parker scored on the power play 19:28 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Port Dover. A high sticking penalty on Thomas Dowling had put the Sailors on the power play. Matt Vansickle picked up the assist. Port Dover additionally got points from Colin Streutker, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Port Dover also got a goal from Steven Comegna as well. In addition, Port Dover received assists from Mitchell Moriarity, who had one.

The Blues incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. McKinnon recorded 32 saves for Port Dover. The Sailors incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Port Dover ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Kevin Mummery was ejected from the game.
