Glanbrook completes comeback, beats Port Dover, 5-4

The Glanbrook Rangers rallied from two goals down to secure a 5-4 win over the Port Dover Sailors.

Glanbrook let multiple leads slip away before eventually digging out of a two hole to pick up the win. The Rangers took a 3-2 advantage on a goal by Kyle Dumais at 19:19 in the second period. Glanbrook went down 2-0 after Port Dover's Anthony Perrodou put the puck home at 11:33 in the first period. After tying things up at 4-4 on a goal by Brandon Elliot at 5:39 in the third, the Rangers got the game-winner from Cole Anderson at 16:31 in the third period.

Glanbrook was led by Anderson, who grabbed one goal.

The Rangers put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Sailors to score on any of their four power plays. Glanbrook kept Port Dover's goalie busy throughout the game, and Nathan McKinnon made 43 saves on 48 shots.

Glanbrook also got a goal from Joel Tivanian as well. In addition, Glanbrook received assists from Keifer MacInness, who had three and Buddy MacLean and Colin Elder, who each chipped in one.

The Sailors excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Port Dover's offense rang up 45 shots on the Rangers' net. The Sailors got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Port Dover was helped by Taz Myers, who racked up one goal. Myers scored 4:09 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Port Dover. Colin Streutker provided the assist. Port Dover additionally got points from Perrodou, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Colten mcload also scored for Port Dover. Other players who recorded assists for Port Dover were Reilly Wilson, Michael Almas, Mitchell Moriarity, Josh Herter, and Justin Brandon, who contributed one a piece.

Mathew Venturelli made 41 saves for Glanbrook on 45 shots. The Rangers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Sailors incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
