Dunne leads Chippawa to shutout victory over Dunnville

Colin Dunne recorded a shutout against the Dunnville Jr. Mudcats as the Chippawa Riverhawks picked up a 3-0 win.

Chippawa was led by Michael Rogers, who had one goal. Rogers scored 12:31 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Chippawa. Thomas Cole provided the assist.

The Riverhawks put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Dunnville to score on any of its three power plays. Chippawa's defense was surprisingly good. The Riverhawks gives up 2.9 goals on average per game. Chippawa forced the Jr. Mudcats goalie Jesse Schoeman to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots.

Chippawa also got a goal from Dylan Leifso as well. More assists for Chippawa came via Matthew Baldinelli, Ryan Johnson, Wade Kenny, Luke Brackett, and Josh Gordon, who contributed one a piece.

Dunnville could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Jr. Mudcats put an average of 4.0 pucks into the net per game. Dunnville's offense rang up 58 shots on the Riverhawks' net.

Colin Dunne made 58 saves for Chippawa on 58 shots. The Riverhawks incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Schoeman recorded 29 saves for the Jr. Mudcats. Dunnville incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
