The Dundas Blues survived a determined comeback attempt by the Grimsby Peach Kings on the way to a 2-1 win. Dundas made the score 2-0 on a goal by Branden Graffi at 2:24 in the second period, and Grimsby got as close as 2-1 when Brennan Smith scored 5:37 into the third period. The Peach Kings were stymied by the Blues netminder Brock Novak, who stopped 30 shots during the victory. The solid play of Novak will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 1.2. Dundas stifled Grimsby's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Blues were held below their usual level of production. Dundas averages 4.1 goals per game. Dundas also got a goal from Cam McConnell as well. More assists for Dundas came via Matt Johnson and Greg Harley, who contributed one a piece. The Peach Kings put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Blues to score on any of their four power plays. Grimsby did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Peach Kings put an average of 3.8 pucks into the net per game. Dundas was unable to stop Grimsby from sending pucks towards the net, and the Peach Kings eventually piled up 31 shots on goal. In addition, Grimsby received assists from Jeromy Hopkins, who had one. The Blues incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Josh Asterino recorded 27 saves for Grimsby. The Peach Kings incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
