Dunnville downs Hagersville in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

The Dunnville Jr. Mudcats' Steven Czepek scored 3:57 into overtime to beat the Hagersville Hawks, 5-4 (OT).

Dunnville came back from a three-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Jr. Mudcats fell behind 4-1 after a goal by Hagersville's Daniel Medeiros at 7:20 in the third period. Dunnville knotted things up at 4-4 on a goal by Jeff May at 19:02 in the third period.

The Jr. Mudcats kept the Hawks' goalie busy throughout the game, and Tim Porter made 30 saves on 35 shots.

Other players who recorded assists for Dunnville were Evan Huckalo, who had one, Andrew McMurtrie, who had two, and Landon Minor, who had three.

Hagersville's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Dunnville power plays.

The Hawks were led by Derek Medeiros, who finished with one goal and two assists. Medeiros scored short handed 57 seconds into the third period to make the score 3-1 Hagersville. Hagersville also got a goal from Zach Maciel as well. More assists for Hagersville came via Aleck Boyd, who had two and Brad Hornby and Cole Martin, who contributed one a piece.

Jesse Schoeman made 26 saves for Dunnville on 30 shots. The Jr. Mudcats incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Hagersville incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Hawks ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Hornby was ejected from the game.
