Dunnville falls to Grimsby in overtime, 2-1 (OT)

The Grimsby Peach Kings' Jordan McCarl scored 16 seconds into overtime to beat the Dunnville Jr. Mudcats, 2-1 (OT).

McCarl had a great game for Grimsby, netting two goals.

Dunnville's power play was ineffective against the Peach Kings' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Grimsby put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Jr. Mudcats to score on any of their seven power plays.

In addition, Grimsby received assists from Colin Wierts, who had two and Cooper Naugoris and Curtis Jacques, who contributed one a piece.

Dunnville stifled the Peach Kings' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Jr. Mudcats could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Dunnville averages 3.8 goals per game.

The Jr. Mudcats were led by Mark Topp, who scored the team's only goal. Topp scored 13:25 into the third period to make the score 1-1. Luke Rowe assisted on the tally.

Mitch Mathieu made 19 saves for Grimsby on 20 shots. The Peach Kings incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Mitch Topliffe rejected 27 shots on goal for Dunnville. The Jr. Mudcats incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
