Huge game by Jude boosts Exeter over North Middlesex, 5-1

The Exeter Hawks' Cam Jude had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing two assists in his team's 5-1 win over the North Middlesex Stars.

Jude beat Alex Foster with a shot 16:35 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Exeter. Chiristopher Pfaff picked up the assist. Jude dished an assist on Tyler McNaughton's goal that made the score 1-0 Exeter at 10:20 into the first period. He added another helper on McNaughton's goal that made the score 3-0 Exeter at 3:50 into the second period.

North Middlesex's power play was ineffective against Exeter's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 19:17 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

The Hawks surpassed their usual scoring output this season. This season, Exeter averages 2.7 goals per contest. The Hawks were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 27 penalty minutes.

Exeter also got a goal from Jake Harrison as well. More assists for Exeter came via Brandon Willis, who had two and Matt Clarke, Kalvin Thornton, and Robert Campbell, who contributed one a piece.

Luke Fraser also scored for North Middlesex. In addition, North Middlesex received assists from Mike Sharpe and Mack O Keefe, who each chipped in one.

Dylan Hoover recorded 18 saves for Exeter. The Hawks registered one goal on five power play opportunities. For Exeter, Pfaff was ejected from the game. Alex Foster made 24 saves for the Stars on 29 shots. North Middlesex ended with 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. The Stars ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Greg Apps was ejected from the game.
