Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Lucan Irish defeated the Lambeth Lancers in a shootout 2-1 (2-1 SO). The two teams needed six turns to complete the shootout. Lambeth got a shootout goal from Warren Hargraves. Lucan's other shootout goal was scored by Andrew Purdom.The Irish came back from a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. Lucan was down 1-0 after a goal by the Lancers' Nick Griffin at 14:11 in the third period. The Irish knotted things up at 1-1 on a goal by Nathan Marcil at 19:50 in the third period. The Lancers' offense operated below they season average. Lambeth averages 4.9 goals per game. The Lancers forced Lucan goalie Gantner to work between the pipes, taking 49 shots.
