DenOtter leads Port Stanley over Mt.Brydges, 10-2

Behind a great game by Josh DenOtter, who had two goals and one assist, the Port Stanley Sailors defeated the Mt.Brydges Bulldogs, 10-2.

DenOtter's tallies came at 5:01 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Port Stanley and 14:48 into the second to make the score 3-2 Port Stanley.

Mt.Brydges' power play was ineffective against Port Stanley's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

The Sailors forced Bulldogs' goaltenders to work without much rest, taking 57 shots and forcing 47 saves. Patrick Maziarz made 34 stops and Matt Lockwood made 13. Port Stanley put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Bulldogs to score on any of their nine power plays. The Sailors surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Port Stanley averages 4.8 goals per game.

Port Stanley additionally got points from Andrew Yurek, who also racked up one goal and two assists, Keaton McIntyre, who also tallied one goal and two assists, Zachary Zinga, who also registered two goals and one assist, Anders Adzija, who also grabbed one goal and two assists, Alex Weaver, who also finished with one goal and two assists, and Findley Brandon, who also had one goal and one assist. Port Stanley also got a goal from Tyler Beaulieu as well. Other players who recorded assists for Port Stanley were Connor Knapman, who had two, Mark Brisson, who had three, and Andrew Fenn and Connor Tamborro, who contributed one a piece.

Mt.Brydges excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Bulldogs' offense rang up 34 shots on the Sailors' net.

Mt.Brydges was helped by Curtis Taylor, who finished with one goal. Taylor scored 6:29 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Port Stanley. Cameron Dewan picked up the assist. Mt.Brydges also got points from Dewan, who also registered one goal and one assist. More assists for Mt.Brydges came via Tyler Lockwood, who had two.

Ricky Corkum recorded 32 saves for Port Stanley. The Sailors incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with 11 minors. Port Stanley ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Tyson Corkum was ejected from the game. The Bulldogs ended with 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major. For Mt.Brydges, Connor Lovie was ejected from the game.
