Lambeth hangs on, beats Lucan 3-2

The Lambeth Lancers took the lead against the Lucan Irish in the first period and maintained it until the end of the game to secure a tight 3-2 victory.

Lambeth took over the lead for good with a goal by Nick Griffin at 15:54 in the first period. Trevor Daynes assisted on the tally.

Jake Alkins was all over the ice for the Lancers, as he finished with two goals in the win. Alkins' tallies came at 15:19 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and 11:44 into the second to make the score 3-1 Lambeth.

Lambeth did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Lancers average 5.2 goals per game. Lucan was unable to stop Lambeth from sending pucks towards the net, and the Lancers eventually piled up 31 shots on goal.

Other players who recorded assists for Lambeth were Mike Golinowski and Warren Hargraves, who contributed one a piece.

The Irish were held below their usual level of production. Lucan puts an average of 4.5 pucks into the net per game. The Irish's offense rang up 33 shots on Lambeth's net.

Lucan was led by Mitch Smith, who registered one goal and one assist. Smith scored on the power play 19:28 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Lambeth. A too many men penalty on Tanner Smith had put the Irish on the power play. Zach Beaumont picked up the assist. Nathan Marcil also scored for Lucan. More assists for Lucan came via Jamie Brozowski, who had one.

Logan Ferrington rejected 31 shots on goal for the Lancers. Lambeth incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. Lucan's Andrew Gantner stopped 28 shots out of the 31 that he faced. The Irish incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors.
