Brandon Garner made 51 saves to complete the shutout and led the Port Stanley Sailors to a 2-0 win against the Lambeth Lancers. Port Stanley was sparked by Dylan Bedard, who had one goal. Bedard scored 13:51 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Port Stanley. Tyler Beaulieu picked up the assist. The Sailors' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Lambeth power plays. Port Stanley did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. More assists for Port Stanley came via Zachary Zinga and Will Kilgour, who each chipped in one. The Lancers put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Sailors to score on any of their six power plays. Lambeth's offense operated below it season average. The Lancers put an average of 5.2 pucks into the net per game. Port Stanley was unable to stop Lambeth from sending pucks towards the net, and the Lancers eventually piled up 51 shots on goal. The Sailors incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Lambeth incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. |
