Lambeth uses shootout to best Dorchester, 5-4 (1-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Lambeth Lancers defeated the Dorchester Dolphins in a shootout 5-4 (1-0 SO).

The shootout featured six attempts between both teams.

Lambeth saw a two-goal lead disappear, but was able to secure the win in a shootout. The Lancers made the score 3-1 on a power play goal by Tanner Smith at 15:26 in the second period. Dorchester evened things up at 4-4 on a power play goal by Gus Ford at 19:36 in the third period.

Lambeth's offense rang up 33 shots on the Dolphins' net. Team could not crack Dorchester's penalty kill and was held to one power play goal while having 13 opportunities to play with the man advantage.

Lambeth additionally got points from Ryan Pennington, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Nick Griffin also scored for Lambeth. In addition, Lambeth received assists from Keith Arnold, who had two and Austin Blais, Nick North, Mitch Furlonger, Jake Alkins, and Justin Clark, who contributed one a piece.

The Dolphins kept the Lancers' goalie busy throughout the game, and JP Trudell made 45 saves on 49 shots. Dorchester could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 48 minutes in penalties during the game.

Dorchester also had goals scored by Matt Cormier and Liam Gillooly, who scored one goal each. More assists for Dorchester came via Shayne Rhyno, who had two and Tyler Vere, Cale Duberry, Chad Brulotte, and Brendon O Shaughnessy, who each chipped in one.

Lambeth incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with 12 minors. The Dolphins' Craig Wood stopped 28 shots out of the 32 that he faced. Dorchester registered two goals on 10 power play opportunities.
