Early goals doom North Middlesex, falls to Lucan, 10-2

The North Middlesex Stars fell behind early, and the Lucan Irish kept piling on the points on the way to a 10-2 victory.

Colin Hartwick had one goal and three assists to lead Lucan. Hartwick scored 8:22 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Lucan. Zach Beaumont picked up the assist.

The Irish put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow North Middlesex to score on any of its three power plays. The Stars were unable to stop Lucan from sending pucks towards the net, and the Irish eventually piled up 49 shots on goal. Lucan outdid its season average for goals scored. The Irish have scored at the pace of 4.8 goals per game during the current campaign.

Lucan additionally got points from Dylan Murray, who also registered one goal and one assist and Andrew Reichert, who also tallied one goal and two assists. Lucan also got a goal from Mike Worby as well. In addition, Lucan received assists from Kody Tremblay, who had two and Jake Morin, Nik Petrie, and Nathan Marcil, who contributed one a piece.

North Middlesex excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

Tyler Beattie made 17 saves for Lucan on 19 shots. The Irish incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Alex Foster rejected 39 shots on goal for the Stars. North Middlesex incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
