Dorchester penalty kill dominates in 7-0 defeat of Mt.Brydges

The Dorchester Dolphins, which found themselves down a man often, weathered the Mt.Brydges Bulldogs' power play opportunities and emerged with a 7-0 victory.

Dorchester was led by Gus Ford, who racked up one goal. Ford scored 1:27 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Dorchester. Cale Duberry provided the assist.

The Dolphins forced Mt.Brydges' goaltenders to work all game long, taking 52 shots and forcing 45 saves. Patrick Maziarz made 40 stops and Andrew Harrimand-Duke made five. Dorchester's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Mt.Brydges power plays. The Dolphins featured an improved defense during the game. Dorchester allows 2.6 goals per game.

Dorchester also got points from Shayne Rhyno, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Duberry, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Bryan McCauley, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Brendon O Shaughnessy also scored for Dorchester. In addition, Dorchester received assists from Jordan Fuller, Tyler Blue, Matt Cormier, Jamie Brzozowski, and Tommy Prokes, who each chipped in one.

The Bulldogs excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances.

The Dolphins' Craig Wood stopped 17 shots out of the 17 that he faced. Dorchester incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Mt.Brydges incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
