Brad Payne had two goals and three assists to lead the Aylmer Spitfires to a 6-3 victory over the North Middlesex Stars. Payne scored short handed at 11:31 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Aylmer and again while on the power play 5:54 into the third to make the score 4-2 Aylmer.North Middlesex's power play was ineffective against Aylmer's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded. The Stars were unable to stop the Spitfires from sending pucks towards the net, and Aylmer eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. The Spitfires outdid their season average for goals scored. This season, Aylmer averages 3.2 goals per contest. The Spitfires struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as they finished the game with 44 penalty minutes for nine opposing power plays. Aylmer additionally got points from Cody Underhill, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Eric Nemeth, who also had one goal and one assist. Aylmer also got a goal from Mitch Roloson as well. Other players who recorded assists for Aylmer were Trevor Stewart and Andrew Baxter, who each chipped in one and Josh Houston and Ryan Stapleton, who contributed two a piece. North Middlesex found itself short handed often, totaling 42 penalty minutes and allowing 12 power plays. The Stars were helped by Taylor Moir, who tallied one goal. Moir scored short handed 12:39 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Aylmer. North Middlesex found itself down a man on Kyle Evans's tripping. Spencer Kading also scored for North Middlesex. More assists for North Middlesex came via Greg Masschelein and Nic Kowaluk, who each chipped in one. Dan Black made 21 saves for Aylmer on 24 shots. For the Spitfires, Will Goodhue was ejected from the game. Dane Gubbels rejected 27 shots on goal for the Stars. North Middlesex ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Masschelein was ejected from the game.
