Lambeth squeaks by Aylmer, 4-2

The game between the Lambeth Lancers and the Aylmer Spitfires was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Lambeth emerged with a 4-2 win.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Brandon Robbins at 1:20 of the third period.

The Lancers pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 31 penalty minutes.

Lambeth was sparked by Robbins, who finished with one goal.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 2:38 into the second period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with three game misconducts.

The Lancers could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Lambeth puts an average of 6.2 pucks into the net per game. Aylmer was unable to stop the Lancers from sending pucks towards the net, and Lambeth eventually piled up 41 shots on goal.

Lambeth also got points from Josh Bumpus, who also registered one goal and one assist and Nick North, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Lambeth also got a goal from Brett Cook as well. More assists for Lambeth came via Austin Blais, who had two and Ryan Pennington and Cody Wuytenburg, who each chipped in one.

The Spitfires forced the Lancers goalie JP Trudell to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots. Aylmer was often in penalty trouble, as it ended with nine minors and one major for 33 minutes in penalty time. Team could not crack Lambeth's penalty kill and was held to one power play goal while having 10 opportunities to play with the man advantage.

The Spitfires were helped by Brad Payne, who racked up one goal. Payne scored on the power play 18:29 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Aylmer. Aylmer had taken the advantage when the Lancers' Wuytenburg got sent off for too many men. Luke Bettencourt also scored for Aylmer.

JP Trudell made 34 saves for Lambeth on 36 shots. The Lancers registered one goal on six power play opportunities. For Lambeth, Trevor Daynes was ejected from the game. Lucas Easterbrook recorded 37 saves for the Spitfires. Aylmer ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Josh Houston was ejected from the game.
