Dorchester blows out Mt.Brydges, 5-0

The Mt.Brydges Bulldogs had trouble finding ways to stop the Dorchester Dolphins, which beat Bulldogs, 5-0.

Mt.Brydges' power play was ineffective against Dorchester's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

The Dolphins were led by Cale Duberry, who grabbed one goal. Duberry scored 10:50 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Dorchester. Jesiah Sweetland picked up the assist.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 17:17 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

Dorchester forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up 10 minors and two majors for 50 minutes in penalty time. The Dolphins surpassed its season average of 25.0 penalty minutes per game. Dorchester forced the Bulldogs' goalies to work in net, totaling 41 shots and forcing 36 saves. Patrick Maziarz made 26 stops and Andrew Harrimand-Duke made 10. The Dolphins stifled Mt.Brydges' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Dorchester's defensive effort looked to be improved. The Dolphins allow 2.4 goals per game.

Dorchester also got points from Brett Dzyngel, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Dorchester also had goals scored by Ben Lawton, who had one and Liam Gillooly, who had two. Other players who recorded assists for Dorchester were Shayne Rhyno, Jordan Fuller, Connor Lovell, Jamie Brzozowski, and Brendon O Shaughnessy, who contributed one a piece.

The Bulldogs were held below their usual level of production. Mt.Brydges averages 2.3 goals per game. The Bulldogs' penalty kill was ineffective, and let in two goals to Dorchester's power play unit.

Craig Wood made 21 saves for the Dolphins on 21 shots. For Dorchester, Connor McKay and Sweetland were ejected from the contest. Mt.Brydges ended with 27 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major. For the Bulldogs, Tyler Lockwood was ejected from the game.
