Lambeth pulls away in second, rolls over Aylmer, 12-1

The Lambeth Lancers used a seven-goal second period to put away the Aylmer Spitfires, 12-1.

Warren Hargraves was all over the ice for Lambeth, as he tallied two goals and six assists in the win. Hargraves scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 14:52 into the first period to make the score 1-1. The Lancers had taken the advantage when Aylmer's Clint Walker got sent off for cross checking. Randy Hicks picked up the assist. Hargraves' next tally on the power play made the score 11-1 Lambeth with 13:11 left in the third period. Lambeth had gained a power play chance when Trevor Stewart was whistled for roughing. Jake Alkins assisted on the tally.

The Lancers were led by goalie JP Trudell, who finished with 32 saves while allowing one goal. Trudell managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 1.99 prior to the game.

Lambeth forced the Spitfires' goalies to work in net, launching 50 shots and forcing 38 saves. Dan Black made 18 stops and Lucas Easterbrook made 20. The Lancers' goal total was higher than their season average. Lambeth has scored at the pace of 6.5 goals per game during the current campaign. The Lancers was effective with a man advantage, and put in five goals while on the power play. Lambeth was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 64 penalty minutes.

Lambeth additionally got points from Tanner Smith, who also registered three goals and three assists, Mike Golinowski, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Alkins, who also finished with two goals and three assists, and Mitch Thomas, who also had one goal and one assist. Lambeth also got a goal from Nick North as well. More assists for Lambeth came via Austin Blais and Ryan Pennington, who each chipped in one.

Aylmer could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Spitfires put an average of 3.1 pucks into the net per game. Aylmer's offense rang up 33 shots on the Lancers' net. The Spitfires could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 48 minutes in penalties during the game.

Aylmer was led by Brad Payne, who scored the team's only goal. Payne scored on the power play 12:05 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Aylmer. The Spitfires earned a power play opportunity when Cody Wuytenburg was put in the box for charging. Eric Nemeth provided the assist.

Lambeth ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Trevor Daynes was ejected from the game. Aylmer registered one goal on nine power play opportunities. For the Spitfires, Cody Benner was ejected from the game.
