Levine nets hat trick, leads Thamesford to 10-4 win over Lucan

The Lucan Irish could not stop the Thamesford Trojans' Adam Levine, who tallied a hat trick in a 10-4 win.

Levine's first goal came 18:32 into the first period. He then added goals at 4:44 into the second and at 16:49 into the third.

Lucan's seven penalties came back to haunt it, as the Irish let up four goals while on the penalty kill.

Thamesford made Lucan's netminders to work between the pipes, firing 34 shots and forcing 24 saves. Andrew Gantner made 15 stops and Tyler Beattie made nine. The Trojans outdid their season average for goals scored. Thamesford averages 5.3 goals per game. The Trojans were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 28 penalty minutes.

Thamesford additionally got points from Jake Saunders, who also racked up one goal and two assists, Andrew McLennan, who also registered two goals and two assists, and Stavros Mandrapilias, who also had one goal and one assist. Thamesford also got a goal from James Toye as well. More assists for Thamesford came via Kyle Walker, who had four, Marcus Gverzdys, Jeremy Denomme, Dakota Hill, and Justin Cooper, who contributed one a piece, and Alex Lumani and Dylan Black, who each chipped in two.

The Irish's offense rang up 39 shots on Thamesford's net.

Lucan was led by Zach Beaumont, who tallied two goals and one assist. Beaumont scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 1:17 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Thamesford. Nathan Marcil assisted on the tally. Beaumont's next tally on the power play made the score 8-3 Thamesford with 15:10 left in the third period. The Irish had gotten the advantage when the Trojans' Liam Billings was sent off for elbowing. Jake Morin picked up the assist. Lucan also got points from Marcil, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Daniel Cloutier also scored for Lucan. Other players who recorded assists for Lucan were Mitch Smith, who had two and Keiron Cobban and Andrew Purdom, who contributed one a piece.

Alex Hutcheson made 35 saves for Thamesford on 39 shots. Lucan incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
