Lambeth beats Dorchester 5-0 as Trudell gains shutout

JP Trudell was superb between the pipes for the Lambeth Lancers, as he did not allow a goal in a 5-0 victory over the Dorchester Dolphins.

Lambeth was paced by Warren Hargraves, who finished with one goal. Hargraves scored on the power play 14:17 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Lambeth. A butt-ending penalty on Cale Duberry had put the Lancers on the power play. Justin Clark picked up the assist.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 18:22 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

Lambeth excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Lancers kept Dorchester's goalie busy throughout the game, and Connor Hughes made 48 saves on 53 shots.

Lambeth also got points from Clark, who also had one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Lambeth included Jake Alkins, who had one and Nick North, who had two. Other players who recorded assists for Lambeth were Kale Corbeth, who had two and Keith Arnold, Ryan Pennington, Brandon Robbins, Randy Hicks, Mitch Thomas, Riley Gilmore, and Matt Schurr, who each chipped in one.

The the Dolphins penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled nine minors and two majors for 48 minutes in penalty time. Dorchester surpassed its season average of 28.0 penalty minutes per game. The Dolphins could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Dorchester averages 5.5 goals per game.

Trudell recorded 28 saves for Lambeth. The Lancers totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 3-for-12 on the power play. Team's Nick Griffin and Thomas were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. For the Dolphins, Shayne Rhyno and Tyler Kerr were ejected from the contest.
