The Aylmer Spitfires had trouble finding ways to stop the Port Stanley Sailors, which beat Spitfires, 4-1. Port Stanley's Brandon Garner was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 39 saves and let only one puck past him. Garner managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 1.84 prior to the game. Aylmer's power play was ineffective against the Sailors' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. Port Stanley's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on 11 Aylmer power plays. The Spitfires were unable to stop the Sailors from sending pucks towards the net, and Port Stanley eventually piled up 38 shots on goal. Port Stanley registered one goal on six power play opportunities. Dan Black rejected 34 shots on goal for Aylmer. The Spitfires incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
