McLennan nets hat trick, leads Thamesford to 5-3 win over Exeter

The Exeter Hawks could not stop the Thamesford Trojans' Andrew McLennan, who tallied a hat trick in a 5-3 win.

McLennan got on the scoresheet 13:34 into the second period. He then added goals at 8:54 into the third and at 19:26 into the third.

Thamesford forced Exeter goalie Dylan Hoover to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.

Liam Carson also scored for Thamesford. More assists for Thamesford came via Marcus Gverzdys, who had two and James Toye, Adam Levine, and Jeremy Denomme, who each chipped in one.

The Hawks kept the Trojans' goalie busy throughout the game, and Alex Hutcheson made 36 saves on 39 shots.

Exeter was helped by Joe Dykstra, who racked up one goal. Dykstra scored 12:02 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Exeter. Chiristopher Pfaff assisted on the tally. Exeter also got a goal from Matt Clarke as well. In addition, Exeter received assists from Kalvin Thornton, Jacob MacDougall, Nick Laporte, and Jesse McIntyre, who contributed one a piece.

Thamesford incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Hoover rejected 29 shots on goal for the Hawks. Exeter incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
