Port Stanley squeaks by Mt.Brydges, 4-2

The Port Stanley Sailors and the Mt.Brydges Bulldogs were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Port Stanley made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-2.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Tyler Beaulieu's goal in the second period proved to be the difference maker.

With three goals and one assist between them, Luke McGuire and Beaulieu teamed up to power the Sailors' offense. McGuire registered two goals and Beaulieu also added one goal and one assist.

Port Stanley kept Mt.Brydges' goalie busy throughout the game, and Andrew Harrimand-Duke made 40 saves on 44 shots.

Port Stanley additionally got points from Beaulieu, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Port Stanley also got a goal from Paolo Di lorio as well. More assists for Port Stanley came via Alex Weaver, who had two and Dalton Good, Zak Jukna, and Mark Brisson, who each chipped in one.

The Bulldogs excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Mt.Brydges' offense rang up 39 shots on the Sailors' net.

The Bulldogs were led by Sean Candler, who had two goals. Candler scored the first of his two goals at 42 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-1. Grant Johns assisted on the tally. Candler's next tally made the score 2-1 Mt.Brydges with 12:44 left in the second period. Mt.Brydges had taken the advantage when Port Stanley's Taylor Schram got sent off for interference. Billy Morris provided the assist. In addition, Mt.Brydges received assists from Tony Lindner, who had one.

Brandon Garner recorded 37 saves for the Sailors. Port Stanley incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Bulldogs incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
