Lambeth survives Mt.Brydges comeback, wins 5-3

The Mt.Brydges Bulldogs tried their best to erase a four-goal deficit, but the Lambeth Lancers would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 5-3.

Lambeth made the score 5-1 on a goal by Warren Hargraves at 11:40 in the third period, and Mt.Brydges got as close as 5-3 when Robert McTaggart scored 16:52 into the third period.

The Lancers forced the Bulldogs goalie Patrick Maziarz to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots. Lambeth was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 34 penalty minutes.

Brett Cook also scored for Lambeth. In addition, Lambeth received assists from Nick Griffin, who had one.

Mt.Brydges' offense rang up 39 shots on the Lancers' net.

The Bulldogs were helped by Ryan Patrick, who tallied one goal. Patrick scored on the power play 7:25 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Lambeth. Mt.Brydges earned a power play opportunity when Austin Blais was put in the box for roughing. Mt.Brydges also got a goal from Matt Dacosta as well. Other players who recorded assists for Mt.Brydges were Sean Candler, Matt Rinker, Cole Chilvers, and Connor Lovie, who each chipped in one.

JP Trudell rejected 36 shots on goal for Lambeth. The Lancers registered one goal on one power play opportunities. Maziarz recorded 31 saves for the Bulldogs. Mt.Brydges incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
