Thamesford downs Lucan in overtime, 6-5 (OT)

The Thamesford Trojans' Alex Lumani scored 55 seconds into overtime to beat the Lucan Irish, 6-5 (OT).

Although Thamesford was up by as many as three goals in the third period, Lucan kept the game interesting by staging a comeback that ultimately fell short. The Irish pulled to within 5-4 on a goal by Dylan Murray at 9:35 in the third period.

The Trojans got the win thanks to a great game by Adam Levine, who had two goals and three assists. Levine scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 15:53 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Thamesford. A roughing penalty on Andrew Reichert had put Thamesford on the power play. Kyle Walker assisted on the tally. Levine's next tally on the power play made the score 5-2 Thamesford with 14:29 left in the third period. The Trojans had gotten the advantage when Lucan's Dylan Moss was sent off for head contact. Walker picked up the assist.

Thamesford also got points from Lumani, who also racked up two goals and two assists and Walker, who also had one goal and three assists. Thamesford also got a goal from Liam Billings as well. More assists for Thamesford came via Fabio Galante and Dylan Wilson-Foote, who each chipped in one.

The Irish found themselves short handed often, totaling 89 penalty minutes and allowing 20 power plays.

Lucan additionally got points from Keiron Cobban, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Nathan Marcil also scored for Lucan. In addition, Lucan received assists from Kody Tremblay, Zach Beaumont, Andrew Purdom, and Dylan Brooks, who contributed one a piece.

Thamesford's Jake Fonti stopped 18 shots out of the 23 that he faced. The Trojans incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with 11 minors. Thamesford ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Justin Cooper was ejected from the game. Andrew Gantner recorded 23 saves for Lucan. The Irish registered one goal on six power play opportunities. Team's Mitch Morin and Jordan Vanderwel were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
