Brooks leads Paris over Tavistock, 7-4

The Paris Mounties' Richard Brooks had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 7-4 win over the Tavistock Braves.

Brooks found the back of the net on the power play 17:59 into the second period to make the score 5-2 Paris and again while 17:30 into the third to make the score 7-4 Paris.

In the losing effort, Tavistock was sparked by Neals Vanweley, who registered two goals. Vanweley scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 6:39 into the third period to make the score 5-3 Paris. Matthew Lupton assisted on the tally. Vanweley's next tally on the power play made the score 6-4 Paris with 3:21 left in the third period. Josh Karn picked up the assist.

Paris forced the Braves goalie Trevor Bloch to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots. The Mounties bested their season scoring average. Paris averages 4.5 goals per game. Penalties took their toll on the Mounties, as their penalty kill unit let in three power play goals. Paris could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

Paris additionally got points from Brian Mueller, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Brady Wheelans, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Brodie Smith, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Ian Fowler, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Scott Sippel also scored for Paris. In addition, Paris received assists from Matthew Small, who had one, Zack Skubnik, who had two, and Clayton Chalmers, who had three.

Tavistock's offense rang up 36 shots on the Mounties' net. The Braves could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 32 minutes in penalties during the game.

Tavistock also got points from Lupton, who also finished with one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Tavistock also got a goal from Jordan Ritsma as well. Other players who recorded assists for Tavistock were Tyson Zehr AP, who had two and Darcey Butler and Dylan Yantzi, who each chipped in one.

Paris' Zach Schompe stopped 32 shots out of the 36 that he faced. The Mounties registered three goals on seven power play opportunities. Trevor Bloch made 34 saves for Tavistock on 41 shots.
