Tavistock squeaks by Burford, 4-2

The Tavistock Braves and the Burford Bulldogs were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Tavistock made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-2.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Matthew Lupton at 14:26 of the third period.

The Braves were paced by Lupton, who racked up one goal.

Tavistock's power play was punchless, and failed to score a single goal despite having 10 power play opportunities. The Braves found themselves short handed often, totaling 24 penalty minutes and allowing two power plays.

Others who scored for Tavistock included Darcey Butler, Jeremy Munro, and Mackenzie Kalbfleisch, who scored one goal each. In addition, Tavistock received assists from Neals Vanweley, Ryan MacDonnel, and Dylan Yantzi, who each chipped in one.

Burford stifled Tavistock's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Bulldogs could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 56 minutes in penalties during the game.

Burford was helped by Chris Grand, who tallied one goal. Grand scored 3:12 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Burford. Adam Harris picked up the assist. Pat Bates also scored for Burford. Other players who recorded assists for Burford were Kyle Chaney, who had one.

The Braves' Trevor Bloch stopped 24 shots out of the 26 that he faced. Riley Edwards rejected 22 shots on goal for the Bulldogs.
