Smith leads Paris over Tavistock, 6-1Tavistock Fri, Nov 22, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Behind a great game by Brodie Smith, who had one goal and three assists, the Paris Mounties defeated the Tavistock Braves, 6-1. Smith scored 49 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-0 Paris. Zach Taylor picked up the assist. Smith dished an assist on Brady Wheelans's goal that made the score 1-0 Paris at 2:57 into the first period. He then added assists on Wheelans' goal at 6:37 into the second and on Wheelans' goal at 10:36 into the second.Paris' Zach Schompe was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 36 saves and let only one puck past him. Schompe certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.54 entering the contest. Tavistock's power play was ineffective against the Mounties' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. Paris forced Braves' netminders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, totaling 31 shots and forcing 25 saves. Jason Miller made 16 stops and Trevor Bloch made nine. The Mounties' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Tavistock power plays. Paris additionally got points from Scott Sippel, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Mitchell Harvey also scored for Paris. More assists for Paris came via Matthew Small, who had two, Ian Fowler, who had three, and Zack Skubnik and Jacob Norcott, who contributed one a piece.
