Doherty leads Ayr to shutout victory over ParisBrant Sports Complex Sat, Nov 09, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Lee Doherty recorded a shutout against the Paris Mounties as the Ayr Centennials picked up a 6-0 win. Riley Clipper was all over the ice for Ayr, as he had two goals in the win. Clipper found the back of the net 7:34 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Ayr and again while 14:43 into the second to make the score 5-0 Ayr. The Centennials stifled Paris' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Ayr was steadier on the defensive front than it has been for much of this season. The Centennials gives up 2.2 goals on average per game. Ayr's offense rang up 36 shots on the Mounties' net. Ayr also got points from Adam Fisher, who also registered two goals and one assist and Anthony Pullia, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Logan Beechey also scored for Ayr. In addition, Ayr received assists from Brendan Schaefer, who had three and Brandon Quan and Eric Hackborn, who each chipped in one. Paris did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Mounties put an average of 3.6 pucks into the net per game. Doherty rejected 26 shots on goal for the Centennials. Ayr totaled 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play. For the Centennials, Jordan Pettitt was ejected from the game. Zach Schompe recorded 30 saves for Paris. The Mounties totaled 21 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 0-for-6 on the power play. Paris ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Jordan MacKenzie was ejected from the game.
