Delhi falls to Ayr in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Mac Kemp gave the Ayr Centennials a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Delhi Travellers when he scored 16 seconds into the extra period.

Ayr came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Centennials trailed 3-1 after a power play goal by Delhi's Taylor Hockley at 12:54 in the second period. Ayr knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by Logan Beechey at 16:56 in the third period.

The Centennials got the win on the strength of a great game by Kemp, who had one goal and two assists.

Ayr kept the Travellers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Nick Heath made 35 saves on 39 shots.

Ayr additionally got points from Beechey, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Jake Whibbs also scored for Ayr. In addition, Ayr received assists from Brendan Schaefer, who had one and Jeff Howlett and Riley Clipper, who contributed two a piece.

Delhi put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Centennials to score on any of their three power plays.

Delhi also got a goal from Brad Ward as well. More assists for Delhi came via Steve Barati, Andrew Huddle, and Kelsey Vanyermen, who each chipped in one.

Ayr's Mitch Figueirdo stopped 22 shots out of the 25 that he faced. The Centennials ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. The Travellers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
