Delhi holds on for 3-2 win against TavistockDelhi Community Centre Sun, Oct 27, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Tavistock Braves tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the Delhi Travellers held on for a 3-2 victory. Delhi took a 3-0 lead during the third period, only to have Tavistock storm back on a Sean Leslie goal 18:06 into the third period to pull to one goal down. The Travellers were helped by Connor Magwood, who racked up one goal. Magwood scored 8:04 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Delhi. Alex Bogojevski picked up the assist. Delhi additionally got points from Andrew Huddle, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Nick Cole also scored for Delhi. In addition, Delhi received assists from Brad Ward and Kelsey Vanyermen, who contributed one a piece. The Braves excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Delhi was unable to stop Tavistock from sending pucks towards the net, and the Braves eventually piled up 34 shots on goal. Tavistock was helped by Matthew Lupton, who registered one goal. Lupton scored on the power play 17:27 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Delhi. The Braves had gained a power play chance when Michael Thomlison was whistled for holding. Jarrod Yantzi assisted on the tally. Other players who recorded assists for Tavistock were Jordan Ritsma and Dylan Yantzi, who each chipped in one. The Travellers' Nick Heath stopped 32 shots out of the 34 that he faced. Delhi incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Jason Miller rejected 26 shots on goal for Tavistock. The Braves incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
