Paris hangs on, beats New Hamburg 2-0

The Paris Mounties beat the New Hamburg Firebirds, 2-0, in a contest where the winning goal was scored in the first period but the game remained close throughout.

Richard Brooks provided Paris with the game-winning tally when he scored 6:28 into the the first period. Jacob Norcott picked up the assist.

The Mounties were paced by Brooks, who had one goal.

Paris' offense operated below it season average. The Mounties put an average of 4.4 pucks into the net per game.

Paris also got a goal from Clayton Chalmers as well.

New Hamburg stifled Paris' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Firebirds did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. New Hamburg averages 4.9 goals per game.

Andrew Masters recorded 20 saves for the Mounties. Paris incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Eric Peicheff made 17 saves for the Firebirds on 19 shots. New Hamburg incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
