The Wichita Falls Wildcats tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Fairbanks Ice Dogs would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-1. Fairbanks made the score 3-0 on a goal by Tayler Munson at 36 seconds in the third period, and Wichita Falls got as close as 3-1 when Ben Kucera scored 10:01 into the third period. The Ice Dogs were led by Doug Rose, who registered one goal and one assist. Rose scored 5:40 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Fairbanks. Kyle Lee provided the assist. Fairbanks averages 28.6 shots on goal per game, but only sent 21 pucks on net against the Wildcats. Fairbanks additionally got points from Colton Wolter, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Munson, who also racked up one goal and one assist. In addition, Fairbanks received assists from Hans Gorowsky, who had one. Wichita Falls barely challenged the opposing netminder, firing only 14 shots on target to force 13 saves.
